Dr. Vivian Zhou
DMDDr. Vivian Zhou grew up in Vancouver, Canada where she attended the University of British Columbia to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree. Before her dental career, she had a background in teaching as a certified First Aid Instructor, where she trained healthcare providers and community members in life-saving emergency skills. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, graduating near the top of her class and receiving recognition through Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society.
Following dental school, Dr. Zhou completed an intensive General Practice Residency at the University of Utah Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center. There, she gained advanced experience treating medically complex patients and managing a wide range of dental emergencies. Her advanced clinical training includes root canal therapy, implant placement and restoration, surgical and impacted wisdom tooth extractions. She stays current with evidence-based research and utilizes the latest techniques and modern technology, including CBCT imaging for implant planning, laser dentistry to minimize pain and recovery time, and high-definition intraoral photography to help patients better understand their oral health. She is also certified in nitrous oxide and advanced life support (ALS), ensuring the highest standards of patient safety while helping to minimize anxiety in the dental chair.
Dr. Zhou is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is passionate about continuing education and staying at the forefront of modern dentistry. Outside the office, Dr. Zhou enjoys staying active through running, hiking, skiing, and yoga. She loves spending time with her fiancee and keeping their two cats, Oreo and Milky, out of trouble.
Dr. Zhou is dedicated to building lasting relationships with her patients and continuing the trusted care they are accustomed to. She combines advanced, up-to-date training with a thoughtful, thorough approach, taking the time to understand each patient’s needs and goals.
